# Add a Background

# Add a Background

Customizing the background of your Simplebooklet can make your content visually appealing and reflect your brand. Whether you want a solid color, a royalty-free image, or a custom upload, the process is easy to follow. Here's how to add and customize a background for your booklet.

### How to Add a Background

1. Open your **Dashboard** and select the Simplebooklet you want to customize.

2. Click the **Design** tab for that booklet.

3. From the left-hand toolbar, click **Presentation**.

4.Click the **pencil** icon next to **"Background"** to open the background options.

5. From here, you can choose a background from three categories:

* **Colors**: Pick a solid color for your background.

* **Images**: Choose from a selection of royalty-free images from Unsplash or browse pre-designed backgrounds, including patterns, photos, and animated options.

* **Upload**: Upload your own custom background image from your device. Any image you upload will be saved to your Image Library for future use.

| Make sure your image is in JPG, PNG, or WebP format and does not exceed 500KB in size. For the best appearance, upload an image with dimensions of 1200 by 800px.

6. After selecting your desired background, click **Done** to apply it to your Simplebooklet.

7. To preview your background theme, click the **Preview** button in the top right corner.

8. Your background is now set, and your Simplebooklet will have a fresh new look!
