# Add a Lead Gate to your Simplebooklet

The Lead Gate lets you collect reader information — like email, name, and phone number — directly from within your Simplebooklet. You can offer something in return (a discount code, a free consultation, exclusive content) or simply gate access to your booklet behind a form.

|| Available on: Pro and Business plans.

## Why Use a Lead Gate?

Every reader who opens your booklet is a potential lead. The Lead Gate captures their contact details at the moment of highest engagement — while they're actively interested in your content. You control what information you ask for, when the gate appears, and what message they see when they submit.

## How to Set Up a Lead Gate

1. Open a Simplebooklet from your **Dashboard** and click the **Design** tab.

## Configure Your Lead Gate

### Headline and Description

5. Enter a **Headline** — a short, attention-grabbing line that explains what the reader gets or why they should submit their info (e.g., "Get Exclusive Access" or "Unlock the Full Guide").

6. Enter a **Description** — a sentence or two with more detail about what they're signing up for or receiving.

### Required Fields

7. Choose which fields to require from the reader:

| **Tip:** Only ask for what you actually need. Fewer required fields = higher submission rates. Email alone is often enough.

* **Email**

* **Phone**

* **Name**

* **Business Name**

### Privacy Policy

8. Optionally, add a **Privacy Policy link** so readers can see how their information will be used. This builds trust and may be required depending on your region.

### Skip Option

9. Toggle on **Allow Skip** if you want to give readers the option to bypass the gate without submitting.

| If your Lead Gate appears early in the booklet, enabling Skip is recommended — forcing submission before readers have seen any content can increase bounce rates.

### Submit Button Text

10. Customize the text on the **Submit button** (e.g., "Get Access", "Send My Info", "Unlock Now").

### Success Message

11. Enter a **Thank You / Success Message** that appears after a reader submits the form (e.g., "Thanks! Your discount code is SAVE20.").

### Page Placement

12. Choose which **page** the Lead Gate appears on. The live preview updates automatically as you select a page, so you can see exactly what your readers will see and where the gate will appear before publishing.

Setting it to page 1 gates access immediately; a later page lets readers engage with your content before asking for their details.

| Placing the gate near the end works well when you're offering an incentive in exchange for contact info — readers are already invested by the time they see it.

| The Lead Gate and Message Popup cannot appear on the same page. If you're using both, make sure they're set to different pages.

## Where Leads Are Stored

Submitted leads are saved to your **Reports** tab under the **Lead Gate** section. From there you can view, export, and manage all submissions for that booklet.

## How This Impacts the Reader's Journey

The Lead Gate activates at the **Action** stage of the Reader's Journey — the moment a reader makes the commitment to engage with your content more deeply. By capturing their contact information, you create a direct line of communication that extends well beyond the booklet itself, turning a passive reader into an active lead.

## Other Ways to Enable Lead Gate

Lead Gate can also be toggled on from the **Share** page under **Access Controls** — it's still there if that's where you're used to finding it.
