# Add a Scroll Bar to Your Simplebooklet

By default, Simplebooklet moves readers through your content with page-flip animation — the experience that makes a Simplebooklet feel like a real booklet. But sometimes, especially for long-form content like landing pages, FAQs, or product detail pages, a familiar vertical scroll feels more natural. Scroll mode swaps out the page-flip for a smooth, continuous scroll while keeping everything else Simplebooklet does — branded weblink, audience reports, embeds, and access controls all still work exactly the same. This article shows you how to turn it on.

### When Scroll Mode Makes Sense

Scroll mode is a great fit when your reader would naturally scroll through your content on a regular webpage:

* **Landing pages** — Long-form pages with a linear top-to-bottom read.

* **FAQs and help pages** — Continuous scrolling feels more familiar than flipping.

* **Product detail pages** — When you want the reader to keep going without a break.

* **Long-form articles or blog-style content** — Anywhere the "page" concept gets in the way.

If your content works better as distinct pages — like a magazine, catalog, or lookbook — you're better off sticking with the standard page-flip experience.

### How to Turn On Scroll Mode

1. Open your **Dashboard**.

2. On the Simplebooklet you want to enable scroll mode for, click **Design**.

3. In the Design Tab, open **Settings** from the left-hand toolbar.

4. Find the **Choose How Your Simplebooklet Fits The Screen** section — it lets you select the scale of your Simplebooklet when it appears for your viewers.

5. Open the drop-down and choose **Set to Width 980**.

6. Click **Done** to save.

That's it — the vertical scroll bar activates automatically as long as your content is taller than the viewer's visible area. Both **single-page and multi-page booklets** support scroll mode.

### Why "Set to Width 980"?

Scroll mode kicks in when two conditions are met:

* Your scale is set to something other than **Fit** (which auto-sizes the page to the viewer window, meaning nothing needs to scroll).

* Your booklet's content **height is greater than the visible viewer height** — so there's actually something to scroll to.

**Set to Width 980** is the setting that reliably meets both conditions for most content. If your booklet doesn't extend beyond the viewer height, no scroll bar appears — because there's nothing to scroll to.

### What Stays the Same

Turning on scroll mode doesn't change any of the other things you've set up:

* **Your weblink** stays the same.

* **Audience reports and analytics** keep tracking as usual.

* **Embeds** on your website continue to work — no need to re-paste any code.

* **Access controls** like passwords, lead gates, and paywalls stay in place.

* **Buttons, hotspots, forms, and other page enhancements** work the same way.
