Add Voice Narration to Your Simplebooklet Pages


Voice narration adds personality, clarity, and guidance to your Simplebooklet. You can record your own narration, upload an audio file, change how narration behaves on each page, or remove narration when needed. Each page has its own recording, giving you full control over pacing and storytelling.


Available on all plans.



How to Add Voice Narration to **your Page**


  1. Open your Dashboard and select the Simplebooklet you want to narrate.


  1. Click the Record tab at the top of the editor.


  1. Flip to the page where you want to add narration.


  1. In the left-hand toolbar, click Record. A drawer will open from the left side. The Voice option is selected by default.


  1. (Optional) Add notes using the Teleprompt section. Click the pencil icon to enter key points you want to reference while recording.


  1. In the Voice-Only Narration section, click the green Start Recording button. A short countdown will appear before your recording begins.


  1. Speak naturally during your recording. Click the red button to stop. Your recording will appear in a playback bar.


  1. Review your narration. You can:


  • Play your recording


  • Redo if you want to try again


  • Save Recording to add it to the page


After saving, a confirmation will appear letting you view your narration or narrate the next page.


Tip: You can record up to 2 minutes of audio per page.



Add a Headshot to Your Narration


You can include a small author photo beside your audio player.


  1. In the Voice-Only Narration drawer, click the Headshot option next to your recording tools.


  1. Choose one of the following:


  • Upload Headshot — select an image from your device.

  • Choose from Library — select a previously uploaded headshot from your Simplebooklet account.


  1. After selecting an image, your headshot will appear next to the audio playback bar in your booklet.


This helps personalize your narration and build trust with your audience.



Change Your Microphone


If you’re using an external microphone, you can switch devices at any time.


  • At the bottom of the Record drawer, use the Select Mic dropdown to choose a different microphone.



Upload an Audio File Instead


If you prefer to use a pre-recorded audio file:


  1. Click Record in the left-hand toolbar.


  1. Select the Upload option at the top of the drawer.


  1. Click Select File and upload an MP3 or WAV file (max 10 MB).


  1. Your audio will appear in the playback bar.


  1. Click Save Narration to add it to the page.



Narration Settings


You can customize how narration behaves on each page:


  1. In the Record tab, click Settings in the left-hand toolbar.


  1. Toggle any of the following options:


  • Autoplay On Page Open — plays narration automatically when the page loads.


  • Autoplay First View Only — plays narration automatically the first time the viewer opens that page.


  • Turn Page On Finish — automatically flips to the next page when narration ends.



Delete a Narration


If you need to remove a narration from a page:


  1. In the left-hand toolbar, click Delete.


  1. Play the audio to confirm you’re removing the correct recording.


  1. Choose Delete Recording or Keep Recording.


  1. Confirm the deletion when prompted.



What Viewers Will See


After saving, your narration appears as an audio player on the page.


Viewers can:


  • Play and pause the audio


  • Scrub through the timeline


  • Listen while reading your content
