# Images FAQ

# **Images FAQ**

Everything you need to know about adding, managing, and making the most of images in your Simplebooklet.

|| Available on all plans.

## **General Questions**

**What types of images can I add to my Simplebooklet?**

You can add images in three ways:

* **Upload your own** — any photo, logo, graphic, or illustration from your device

* **Search Unsplash** — browse thousands of license-free, high-resolution stock photos built directly into the editor

* **Use your Image Library** — access any image you've previously uploaded, available across all your booklets

**What image file types are supported for uploading?**

Simplebooklet supports standard image formats including JPG, PNG, and GIF. Animated GIFs are fully supported and will play automatically on your page.

**Can I add images to every page?**

Yes. You can add as many images as you need to any page in your Simplebooklet. Each image can be independently repositioned and resized using the Element Editor.

**Can I add more than one image to a page?**

Yes. There is no limit to the number of images you can place on a single page.

## **Uploading Images**

**How do I upload an image to my booklet?**

In the **Edit** tab, click the **Images** button in the left-hand toolbar, then click **Upload Image** and select your file. Your image will be placed on the page automatically.

**How do I reposition or resize an image after adding it?**

Click on the image to open the **Element Editor**. Drag it to reposition it anywhere on the page, and use the handles to resize it.

**Can I crop an image inside Simplebooklet?**

Yes. Click on the image, then click the **orange crop icon** in the top-left corner to crop it directly in the editor. No external tools needed.

## **Unsplash — License-Free Images**

**What is Unsplash and how do I access it?**

Unsplash is a platform offering thousands of high-resolution, license-free photographs. It's built directly into Simplebooklet's image panel — no account or subscription required. In the **Edit** tab, click **Images** and use the search bar below the Upload button to find and add images instantly.

**Are Unsplash images free to use?**

Yes. All images available through the Unsplash integration are free to use with no attribution required.

**Can I search for specific types of images on Unsplash?**

Yes. Use the search bar to find images by topic, keyword, mood, or subject. The more specific your search terms, the more relevant your results will be.

## **Image Library**

**What is the Image Library?**

The Image Library is a personal storage space where every image you upload is saved and kept available for use across all your Simplebooklets. Upload once, use everywhere.

**How do I access my Image Library?**

In the **Edit** tab, click the **Images** button in the left-hand toolbar, then switch to the **Image Library** tab at the top of the panel.

**How do I add an image from my library to my current booklet?**

Simply drag and drop the image from your Image Library onto the page you're working on.

**How do I delete an image from my Image Library?**

Hover over the image in your Image Library and click the **trash icon** that appears.

## **GIFs**

**Can I add animated GIFs to my Simplebooklet?**

Yes. GIFs are uploaded through the same **Images** tool using the **Upload Image** button. Once added, your GIF will play automatically and loop continuously on the page.

**Can I crop a GIF?**

Yes. Click on the GIF and use the **orange crop icon** in the top-left corner, the same as you would for a standard image.

**Can I use GIFs in my Image Library?**

Yes. GIFs you upload are saved to your Image Library and can be reused across booklets.

## **Interactive Images**

**Can I make an image clickable?**

Yes — in two ways depending on how visible you want the interaction to be.

An **Image Button** is a visible, labelled button that opens one or more images in a lightbox when clicked. Use this when you want your audience to clearly see that there's more to explore.

An **Image Hotspot** is an invisible clickable area you place over existing content. When clicked, it opens an image in a lightbox. Use this when you want the interactivity to feel seamless without adding a visible element to your design.

**Can I display multiple images in a lightbox?**

Yes. Both Image Buttons and Image Hotspots support multiple images, which display as a browsable gallery in the lightbox.

**Can I add captions to images in a lightbox?**

Yes. Both Image Buttons and Image Hotspots include an optional caption field. Use it to add context, labels, or descriptions for your viewers.

## **How Images Support the Reader's Journey**

Images do meaningful work at every stage of the Reader's Journey. In the **Awareness** stage, strong visuals make an instant impression and signal that your content is worth exploring. In the **Attention** stage, well-placed images and GIFs break up text, reward curiosity, and keep viewers engaged as they move through your pages. In the **Immersion** stage, product photography, infographics, and interactive image galleries build understanding and give readers the visual evidence they need to feel confident. And in the **Action** stage, the right image placed alongside the right call to action makes the next step feel personal — not transactional.
