Add an Accessibility Menu to your Navbar


The Accessibility Menu makes your Simplebooklet more inclusive by generating a text-only version of your booklet using AI. This version is optimized for screen readers and supports keyboard navigation, helping your content align with the requirements outlined in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

How to Add an Accessibility Menu to your Navbar


  1. Open your Dashboard and select the Simplebooklet you want to update.


  1. Click the Design tab.



  1. In the left-hand toolbar, click Advanced.



  1. Under the Nav Buttons section, toggle on the Accessibility Menu option.



  1. Click the pencil icon next to Accessibility to open the customization panel.



  1. Click Generate Accessibility Content.



  • You’ll see a warning that generating new content will replace any existing version.


  • A progress message will appear while the text is being generated.


  • Once finished, you’ll be notified that the accessibility content is ready to review.


  1. When generated, a live preview drawer will open on the right side, showing exactly what your viewers will see when they click the Accessibility button. From here, you can flip through pages in text-only view.



  1. To make edits:


  • Navigate to the page you want to update.


  • Click the pencil icon to open the full text editor.



  • Make your changes and click the save icon to confirm.



  • You’ll receive a message once your edits are saved.


  1. You and your viewers also have the option to click the Full Page button at the top if you want the Accessibility Menu to open in a new browser tab.



  1. Your readers can now access the Accessibility Menu from the navbar, giving them a more inclusive and compliant reading experience.
