* Add a personalized message in the **Add a Message for your readers** box.

* Select the **Page Displaying Paywall**. All pages after this one will remain locked until payment is made.

To start charging for your Simplebooklet, you’ll need to connect your PayPal Business account.

Follow these steps to set it up:

* Log into your PayPal Developer Account.

* Under Apps & Credentials, switch the toggle to LIVE, then click Create App.

* Give your app a name, then copy the generated Client ID.

* Return to the Paywall tab in your Simplebooklet and paste the Client ID into the PayPal Client ID field.

| You need a **PayPal Business account** to use the paywall feature. It’s free to set up, and all charges are processed directly through PayPal—Simplebooklet does not take a fee.

### Custom Passcode Tab

You can grant specific readers access with a custom passcode:

* Enter a **Passcode** (letters and numbers only, no spaces).

* Fill in the reader’s **Email**, **First Name**, and **Last Name**.

* Click **Add**.

* Any custom passcodes you create will appear in the list below.

| This allows you to bypass payment for select readers while keeping the paywall in place for others.

### How this impacts the Reader’s Journey:

Adding a **Paywall** directly supports the **Action** stage by converting engaged readers into paying customers. By giving readers a preview before the paywall, you build **Awareness** and **Attention**, encouraging them to value your content. Combined with personalized messaging and flexible access options, the paywall ensures a smooth, trustworthy transaction experience, while helping you financially benefit from your work.
