## Why Upload Your Illustrator File to Simplebooklet?

Illustrator produces stunning, high-fidelity designs — but sharing them is a headache. Simplebooklet gives your Illustrator work a branded link, a page-flip experience, and real-time analytics on who's viewing it. The key is exporting it correctly first so nothing gets lost in translation.

---

## How to Export from Illustrator

1. Open your Illustrator document.

2. Click **File** → **Save As**.

3. In the Save window, confirm the filename under **Save As**.

4. From the **Format** dropdown, select **Adobe PDF (Print)**.

5. In the **Save Adobe PDF** window, set **Adobe PDF Preset** to **[PDF/X-1a:2001]**.

6. Click **Save PDF**.

---

## How to Upload to Simplebooklet

1. Go to your **Dashboard** and click **Upload File**.
2. Select **Upload File From Computer**.
3. Choose the PDF you just exported from Illustrator.
4. On the **Convert** page, set your **Title** — this forms part of your custom URL.
5. Under **Choose A Page Flip**, select the transition that best suits your design. Hover over each option to preview the animation.

   | If your document is a trifold, bifold, or gatefold, make sure to select the matching fold option — any other transition will break the fold lines.

6. Click **Convert**.
7. Your Simplebooklet loads in **Preview**. Check that fonts and images look right, then share or customize from there.

## What Readers See

Readers open your Illustrator design from a single link — fully rendered, page-flipping, on any device. No plugins, no downloads, no loss of quality.

---

## Tips

- Always use the **PDF/X-1a:2001** preset when exporting. Other presets can cause font rendering issues or missing elements after conversion.
- If your document uses custom fonts, embed them during export to avoid substitution.
