Add a Document Hotspot

Add a Document Hotspot to your Simplebooklet

Adding a document hotspot to your Simplebooklet allows you to link to a document that opens in a lightbox for easy viewing. Whether you’re linking to PDFs, Word docs, or even design files, this feature lets you share important files directly in your booklet. Follow these steps to add a document hotspot.

Available on all plans.

How to Add a Document Hotspot to your Simplebooklet

Open your Dashboard and scroll to the Simplebooklet you want to add a link hotspot to.

Click the Edit tab.

Select the page where you want to add the hotspot.

In the left-hand toolbar, click the Hotspot button.

From the drop-down menu, select Document.

Upload the Document you want to use for your hotspot by clicking the File button.

Once you're satisfied with your selection, click the Save button. Your hotspot will now be added to the page.

Click on the hotspot to resize and reposition it using the Element Editor.

In the Edit Tab, your hotspot will appear with orange outlines and icons. However, once you preview your booklet or share it, viewers will not see these orange outlines or icons. The hotspot will still be interactive, but the visual indicators will be hidden. These hotspots will briefly flash when the page is first opened to help viewers identify them as clickable, but the outlines will not remain visible. To make the clickable areas more obvious, consider adding an icon or website text below your hotspot to signal to users that it's a clickable link.

Preview your booklet to ensure that everything works as expected.

Your document hotspot is now added and ready to be interacted with!

If you want to change any settings for your hotspot later, just click on the small orange box to the left of the hotspot. This will allow you to access the settings and make any necessary adjustments
