Get to know the Design Tab
The Design Tab is where you can customize the look and feel of your Simplebooklet. From customizing the navbar to adjusting the page flip transition, this tab gives you control over how your booklet will appear to your readers. You can fine-tune every detail to ensure that your booklet aligns with your branding and user experience goals. Here’s a breakdown of the key features you can customize in the Design Tab.
Left-Hand Toolbar
The left-hand toolbar provides easy access to various sections that you can customize. Each of these sections corresponds to different aspects of your Simplebooklet's design, and includes the following categories:
Page Flip:
- Page Flip Transition: Customize the page flip effect for both mobile and desktop views, adjusting settings like flip timing, direction, and fold shadow to create a smooth and engaging reading experience.
- Page Flip Button: Adjust the appearance and functionality of the button used to flip pages.
- Page Flip Sound: Add a sound to the page flip action to make it more interactive.
- Page Shadow: Apply a shadow effect around your booklet for added depth and a professional look.
Presentation:
- Themes: Choose from a variety of pre-built themes that control the layout, colors, and typography of your booklet.
- Background: Change the background of your booklet, either by selecting a color, uploading an image, or using a pre-designed background.
- Logo: Upload and display your logo to reinforce your brand identity.
Nav Layout:
This section controls the navbar layout, which is a focal point in the design process. The navbar is where you manage how your readers navigate through your booklet. You can customize its layout to suit the design of your booklet, making it functional and visually appealing.
Info:
The Info section allows you to customize the content that appears when readers click the Info button in your navbar. The options in this section correspond to the side drawer that opens when the Info button is clicked. The Info section includes:
- Simplebooklet Title: Display your booklet’s title in the navbar.
- Organization: Include the name of your organization.
- Table of Contents: Provide an interactive list of sections for easy navigation.
- Summary: Offer a brief description of what your Simplebooklet is about.
- Page Numbers: Show the number of pages in your booklet.
- Opens: Display the number of times your booklet has been opened.
- Collections: Organize your Simplebooklet as part of a larger collection.
- Search: Enable a search bar for easy content discovery.
- Terms of Service: Include a link to your Terms of Service.
These sections will all appear when you click on the Info button in the navbar and open the corresponding side drawer.
Contact:
The Contact section lets you manage how readers can get in touch with you and stay connected. These options correspond to the Contact button in the navbar, where readers can interact with:
- Contact Card: Add your contact details, such as email, phone number, and social media links.
- Message Me: Allow readers to send messages directly from the booklet.
- Following: Let users follow your updates and receive notifications.
These features will open when the Contact button in the navbar is clicked, revealing the side drawer for easy interaction.
Share:
The Share section provides readers with various options to share your content. These options appear when you click on the Share button in the navbar and open the corresponding side drawer:
- Social: Share your booklet on social media platforms.
- Email: Share your booklet via email.
- Download: Allow readers to download your booklet.
- QR Code: Generate a QR code for easy mobile access.
- Embed Code: Provide an embed code to let others display your booklet on their websites.
- Install: Enable users to install your booklet as an app-like experience on their devices.
Controls:
The Controls section lets you manage interactive features in your navbar. These options are available in the Controls button section of the navbar and include:
- Page Numbers: Display page numbers for easy reference.
- Home: Let users navigate back to the first page.
- Zoom: Allow readers to zoom in and out for better visibility.
- Thumbnail Preview: Enable a thumbnail preview for easy navigation to specific pages.
- Fullscreen: Let users view your booklet in fullscreen mode for an immersive experience.
Advanced:
The Advanced section offers more customization options to fine-tune your booklet’s functionality. These features include:
- Custom Button: Add a button to the navbar that links to an external URL.
- Plain Text: Add a plain text button to your navbar for a minimalist design.
- Settings: Customize various settings such as language, default scale, and more:
- Language: Choose the language for your navbar and interface.
- Default Scale: Set how your booklet will scale when opened on different devices.
- Link Highlight: Highlight clickable links for better interaction.
- Link Autodetect: Automatically convert phone numbers, emails, and URLs into clickable links.
- Optimize Page Load: Speed up the loading time by loading pages only when needed.
- Optimize Image Load: Improve image loading performance by loading images on demand.
- Loading Indicator: Show a loading indicator while your booklet is loading.
- Basic Copy Protection: Prevent readers from right-clicking and copying content.
Fully Interactive Navbar Preview
The Design Tab also provides a fully functional preview of your navbar, allowing you to test out changes in real-time. This interactive preview shows how your readers will experience the navbar, including how side drawers open and how various sections function. It’s a great way to make sure everything looks and works as expected before going live.
