Sample Receipt for Help Articles

This article provides sample receipts to help you understand what a Simplebooklet subscription invoice looks like. These examples are for demonstration purposes only and do not reflect real customer billing information.

Available on all paid plans.

These mock-ups show common billing scenarios so you know what to expect.

Example 1: Standard Plan Subscription (Basic Plan)

A standard receipt includes:

  • Plan name

  • Billing period

  • Payment method

  • Subtotal

  • Tax

  • Total amount paid

In this example, the user is subscribed to the Basic Plan, and the receipt reflects a straightforward annual payment.

What you’ll typically see:

  • Plan Name: Basic Plan

  • Billing Period: Start date to renewal date

  • Unit Price: Subscription cost

  • Sales Tax: Based on your region

  • Total Paid: Final charged amount

This is the most common receipt structure for users who have not changed plans during their billing cycle.

Example 2: Plan Upgrade with Proration (Pro Plan)

If you upgrade from one plan to another during your billing period, your receipt may include:

  • A charge for the new plan

  • A negative line item (credit) for the unused portion of the previous plan

  • Adjusted subtotal

  • Updated tax calculation

For example:

  • Pro Plan — Charged at full annual rate

  • Basic Plan (-1) — Credit applied for unused time

  • Subtotal — Reflects the adjusted difference

  • Sales Tax — Calculated on the adjusted amount

  • Total Paid — Final prorated charge

A negative quantity (such as -1) indicates a credit applied due to a subscription change.

This is normal and reflects proration — meaning you only pay the difference when switching plans.

What Appears on Your Receipt

All official receipts include:

  • Invoice reference number

  • Transaction ID

  • Billing period

  • Currency code

  • Payment method (last 4 digits masked)

  • Tax breakdown

  • Total amount paid

  • Vendor information (processed via Paddle.com)

The charge will appear on your card or bank statement as:

*PADDLE.NET SIMPLEBKLT**

Important Notes

  • Receipts are generated automatically when payment is completed.

  • Each receipt is tied to your unique subscription ID.

  • Subscription IDs differ per account and cannot be reused.

  • If you upgrade mid-cycle, credits will appear as negative line items.

  • Tax amounts depend on your region.
