How do I track opens on my Simplebooklet?

The Opens report shows how many times your Simplebooklet was opened, where readers opened it from, what devices they used and what time of day they read. Find it in Reports > Awareness > Opens, and download any chart as a .md file to analyze in ChatGPT or Claude.

Available on Basic plans and above. See Choosing Your Simplebooklet Plan.

What does the Opens report show?

The Opens report has four charts and an activity feed:

  • Location: opens grouped by the city they came from, on a map.
  • Devices: opens on desktop, mobile and tablet, with the share for each.
  • Timeline: opens per day across your date range.
  • Open Times (EST): opens grouped by hour of the day, in Eastern Time.
  • Activity Feed: each visitor with their number of opens, last open and city.

The Opens report shows totals. It doesn't show who your readers are. In the Activity Feed, each visitor gets an automatic label like Curious Visitor or Excited Customer instead of a name.

How do I change the date range?

Click the date range in the top-right corner of Reports, then choose Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, This Year, All Time or Custom Range.

Every chart, the Activity Feed and every .md file you download use the date range you choose.

How do I download a chart as a .md file?

  1. Set the date range you want.
  2. On the chart you want, click MD in its top-right corner.

The file saves to your downloads folder, named after the chart and dates, for example location-2026-06-02-to-2026-10-18.md. Each chart downloads as its own file: Location, Devices, Timeline and Open Times (EST).

Each file includes your Simplebooklet's title, the date range, a one-line description of the chart and the data as a table. It contains city-level locations and totals only, with no names or email addresses.

Try prompts like these:

  • Location: "Which cities open my Simplebooklet most, and where should I focus my next campaign?"
  • Devices: "About half my opens are on mobile. What should I check to make my Simplebooklet easier to read on a phone?"
  • Timeline: "When did my opens spike, and what might have caused it?"
  • Open Times: "What's the best time of day to send this Simplebooklet to my audience?"

Common questions

Does the Opens report show who read my Simplebooklet?

No. It shows totals and city-level locations. To collect readers' names and email addresses, use a Lead Gate. Learn more: Track Lead Gate Results in your Simplebooklet

Why don't the numbers in my .md file match what I expected?

Check your date range. Each file only includes opens from the date range set in the top-right corner of Reports when you downloaded it. To see every open since you published, choose All Time.

What time zone does Open Times use?

Eastern Time (EST). If your readers are in another time zone, ask ChatGPT or Claude to convert the hours when you share the file.
