Understanding Stage 2 of the Audience Journey: Attention

Attention measures how deeply readers are engaging with your content once they've opened it. Opening a booklet is just the start — Attention tells you whether readers are actually turning pages and interacting with what you've created.

Success at this stage = deep engagement with your booklet.

Pages Flipped

The total number of page turns across all sessions. A high page flip count means readers are moving through your content — a strong signal of genuine engagement. If Pages Flipped is low relative to your Total Opens, readers may be dropping off early, which could mean your opening pages need stronger hooks.

Interactive Clicks

Clicks on any embedded links, videos, hotspots, or interactive elements within your booklet pages. These show readers are actively exploring your content — not just passively viewing it. Interactive Clicks are a particularly strong engagement signal because they require intent.

What to Look For

Strong Attention numbers paired with weak Action numbers often means your content is engaging but your calls to action aren't landing — consider making your CTAs more prominent or compelling.

Low Pages Flipped relative to opens suggests readers aren't getting past the first few pages. Look at your opening content: is it immediately valuable and clear?

High Interactive Clicks show your embedded content — videos, links, hotspots — is working. If Interactive Clicks are low, consider whether your interactive elements are visible and relevant to your readers.
