How to Set Up a Custom Domain for Canva-Exported Simplebooklets


Before applying your domain inside Simplebooklet, you’ll need to add a CNAME record where your domain is registered (GoDaddy, Wix, Google Domains, Namecheap, etc.).

This confirms ownership of the domain and allows Simplebooklet to use it.


Step 1: Add a CNAME Record with Your Domain Provider


  1. Open your domain provider’s DNS Manager.


  1. Locate the CNAME section and choose Add New CNAME.


  1. Enter the following:


  • Hostname: the subdomain you want to use


(for example: reports, designs, or guides)*



  • TTL: ½ hour


  1. Save your changes.


  1. Allow up to 30 minutes for the DNS update to complete.


You don’t need to change your main website. Using a subdomain like reports.yourdomain.com keeps everything clean and organized.



Step 2: Connect the Domain Inside Simplebooklet


  1. Open your Simplebooklet Dashboard.


  1. Click Domain in the left-hand toolbar.


  1. Click the plus icon to add a new custom domain.


  1. Enter your domain (without https://).


  1. Click Add Domain.


  1. Choose how you want to apply it:


  • Set it as the default account domain, or


  • Apply it to a specific Canva-exported Simplebooklet or Collection


  1. Click Apply.


Your Simplebooklet will now load from a clean, branded URL.
