How do I add a custom button after exporting from Canva?
After you send your design from Canva to Simplebooklet, you can add a button to your navbar that takes readers to any web page you choose. Point readers at your next step, like a sign-up page, registration form, product listing or booking calendar, so it's one click away while they read.
How do I add a custom button after exporting from Canva?
- When your Canva design is ready, Simplebooklet opens it in Preview. In the panel on the left, under Customize, click Design.

- In the left-hand toolbar, click Advanced.
- Under Nav Buttons, turn on Custom Button.
- Click the pencil icon next to Custom Button.
- In Custom Button Label, enter the text for your button. You can use up to 12 characters.
- Below the label, enter the web address the button should open, such as a form, checkout or landing page.
- Click Done.
Your button now shows in your navbar on desktop, tablet and phone, and readers who click it go straight to that page.
Common questions
Do I need to do this again when I update my design in Canva?
No. Your custom button is part of your Simplebooklet's design, not your Canva file, so it stays when you update your Simplebooklet from Canva. Learn more: Update a Simplebooklet from Canva
Can I add a link inside my Canva design instead?
Yes. Links you add in Canva carry over to your Simplebooklet as clickable links on the page. A navbar button is different: it stays visible on every page, so readers can act at any point.
How do I change or remove my custom button?
Go back to Design > Advanced. Click the pencil icon to change the label or web address, or turn off Custom Button to remove it from your navbar.
