Allow Comments on your Simplebooklet
Allow Comments on your Simplebooklet
The Comments feature lets readers leave feedback directly on your Simplebooklet through text, video, voice, or emoji reactions. When enabled, a toolbar appears at the top of your booklet showing that comments are active—allowing your audience to view, post, and engage with one another in real time. You can manage how comments work, moderate submissions, and control their availability—all from the Share tab.
How to Allow Comments on your Simplebooklet
- Open your Dashboard and select the Simplebooklet you want to manage.
- Click the Share button for that Simplebooklet
- Scroll down to the Comments section under Manage.
- Toggle Reader Commenting on or off.
- When toggled on, you’ll see an Active indicator appear below it.
- Click the gear icon next to Reader Commenting to open the Host Settings popup.
Managing Your Comment Settings
The Host Settings popup includes two tabs: Set Up (default) and Notifications.
Set Up Tab
Here, you can:
- Toggle Moderate Comments — choose whether comments must be approved before appearing publicly.
- Set an End Date — select the last day readers can submit comments.
- Copy the Share Link — grab the direct link to your comment-enabled Simplebooklet to share with your audience.
- Once your preferences are set, click Done to save your changes.
Notifications Tab
The Notifications tab explains how you’ll receive comment and activity notifications for your Simplebooklet:
- You’ll automatically receive an email notification whenever someone adds a comment to your Simplebooklet.
- You’ll also receive an email each time your Simplebooklet is opened (this can be disabled in the Notifications menu of your Sharing Tools).
- You can optionally use Zapier or Slack integrations to forward open and comment notifications to your preferred third-party tools.
What Comments Look Like in your Booklet
When comments are activated, your readers will see a bar appear at the top of your Simplebooklet that says “Comments Are On.” Beside it are three icons:
- Open Comments — tap this to view all comments for the current page.
- How Comments Work — provides instructions for readers:
- Followers — view who’s following your Simplebooklet discussions.
When a reader taps the Open Comments button, a popup will appear where they can add their own comment using voice, video, text, or reactions.
Why Enable Reader Comments?
Allowing reader comments helps you:
- Encourage engagement and direct interaction with your audience.
- Collect feedback to improve your content.
- Build community around your booklets.
- Maintain control through moderation and end-date options
How this impacts the Reader’s Journey
Reader comments enhance the Engagement and Action stages of the Reader’s Journey. By giving your audience a space to respond, ask questions, or share opinions, you foster two-way communication that keeps them connected to your content. Moderation ensures this interaction stays positive and relevant to your goals.
