How do I send my Simplebooklet by email?

You can email your Simplebooklet to up to 10 people at once, straight from the Share tab. Each person gets an email with your cover and an Open button, so they go straight to your document experience instead of downloading a PDF, and you can see when it's opened in Reports.


Available on all plans.


How to send your Simplebooklet by email


  1. On your Dashboard, click Share on the Simplebooklet you want to send. If you're already editing it, click Share in the top-right corner.
  2. Under Get it in front of readers, click Email.
  3. Check the From address. To send from a different address, click Edit.
  4. In To, enter up to 10 email addresses, separated by commas.
  5. Check the Subject, which starts as your Simplebooklet's title.
  6. Write your Message, or let the Email Expert write it for you (see below).
  7. Check the Preview email on the right to see what your recipients will get.
  8. To get a copy yourself, tick Send me a copy.
  9. Click Send Email.



Let the Email Expert write your message


The Email Expert reads your Simplebooklet and writes a message based on what's in it, such as who it's for, what it offers and how to get in touch.


  1. In the Email panel, click Run on the Email Expert.
  2. Keep working while it writes. The Expert status marker shows when it's done.
  3. Read the message it added to Message and edit anything you want to change.


The Email Expert recommends; you decide. Nothing is sent until you click Send Email.

What your recipients see


Your email shows your subject, your message, an image of your cover and an Open button. Clicking Open takes them to your Simplebooklet, where they can read it on any device. There's no attachment to download.



Send from your own email app


Under Send another way, click Your email app. Your default email program opens with your Simplebooklet's title as the subject and its link in the message. Add your recipients and send it as you normally would. Use this to send from your usual inbox or to more than 10 people.



Add your Simplebooklet to Mailchimp


Under Send another way, click Mailchimp. The Mailchimp Integration window gives you two options.

Email Template


Adds an email to your Mailchimp template library with your cover and a built-in link to your Simplebooklet. Use it to send your Simplebooklet to your mailing lists.


  1. On the Email Template tab, click Add To Templates.
  2. Connect your Simplebooklet account to your Mailchimp account.
  3. In Mailchimp, choose the new template and edit the content in the Mailchimp template editor.

Content Manager


Adds your cover as an image to your Mailchimp content library, so you can use it in any Mailchimp email or campaign.


  1. On the Content Manager tab, click Export To Content Manager.
  2. Copy your Simplebooklet link from the Share tab.
  3. In Mailchimp, add the cover image and link it to your Simplebooklet so readers can click through.

After you send


Turn on Email Me When Opened under Settings > Notifications to get an email each time your Simplebooklet is opened, and click View in Reports at the top of the Share tab to see which pages held your readers' attention.



Common questions


How many people can I email at once?


Up to 10 addresses per send. To reach a larger list, use Your email app or add your Simplebooklet to Mailchimp.


Does the email include a PDF attachment?


No. The email links to your Simplebooklet instead of attaching a file. Recipients open it in their browser, and if you update your Simplebooklet with Replace, the same link shows the new version.


Does the Email Expert send the email for me?


No. The Email Expert writes your message, and nothing is sent until you click Send Email. You can edit the message and subject before sending.


Can I see which person opened my Simplebooklet?


Reports and open notifications show that your Simplebooklet was opened, not which recipient opened it. To know who's reading, ask readers to verify their email before they open it, using Access Controls in the Share tab. Learn more: Require Verified Emails for your Simplebooklet
