Which Page Flip Should I Choose?
When you upload a file, Simplebooklet will suggest a recommended page flip — but you can choose any option that fits your content. Here's a quick guide to help you pick the right one.
The Page Flip Categories
On the Convert page you'll see five tabs: Recommended, Page Spread, Single Page, Trifold, and Gatefold. Each tab contains different animation styles, but the tab itself determines how your pages are structured — not just how they look.
Page Spread
Best for: Magazines, newsletters, catalogs, annual reports, brochures, books — anything designed to be read as two pages side by side.
Your PDF pages are paired and displayed as open spreads, like a physical book or magazine. If your document starts with a single cover page followed by double-page layouts, Simplebooklet will automatically detect this and Page Spread is the right choice.
Single Page
Best for: Presentations, slide decks, flyers, menus, posters, calendars, one-pagers — any document where each page stands alone.
Each page is displayed one at a time as a full view. There are dozens of transition styles to choose from (Card Flip, Slide, Parallax, Board Book, and more) — pick one that matches the tone of your content.
Trifold
Best for: Trifold brochures only.
This option only appears if your PDF is exactly 2 pages with 3 panels per page. If your file is formatted correctly, choose Trifold to animate the fold across all panels, or No Fold Back to display the back as a flat page.
Gatefold
Best for: Gatefold brochures only.
Choose Gatefold if your document opens like saloon doors from the center, or Double Gatefold if one panel is intended as a front page. Only select this if your PDF is actually designed as a gatefold — choosing it for other documents will produce incorrect fold lines.

Can I Change It After Converting?
Yes — you can update your page flip at any time after conversion. So don't stress too much about getting it perfect upfront.
