What Happens If I Downgrade My Plan?

You can downgrade your Simplebooklet plan at any time. This article explains what happens to your account, your booklets, and your content when you do.

Available on all paid plans.

When the Downgrade Takes Effect

A downgrade does not take effect immediately. Your current plan stays active until the end of your billing period. After that, your account moves to the new plan and its limits apply.

See Cancel your Subscription Plan for the steps to downgrade.

What Happens to Your Booklets

If your new plan supports fewer active booklets than you currently have, the excess booklets will be paused until your active count is within the new plan's limit. Paused booklets are not deleted — their content, design, and analytics stay fully intact. You can choose which booklets to keep active by managing them from your Dashboard.

See Why Are My Booklets Showing as Paused for more on what paused means.

What Happens to Your Features

Any features included in your previous plan that are not available on the new plan will no longer be accessible after the downgrade takes effect. For example, downgrading from Business to Pro means losing access to multiple brand kits, additional booklet slots, and other Business-only features. Content already created using those features stays in your account but may not be editable until you upgrade again.

Downgrading to Free

Downgrading to Free reverts your account to the Free plan limits — a 25MB file size, up to 1,000 opens, and a 180-day publishing window. Any booklets beyond the Free plan's active limit will be paused.

See What Happens When Your Free Plan Ends for the full timeline of what happens on the Free plan.
