Why Was My Free Account Removed?
We're glad you gave Simplebooklet a try — and we're sorry if losing access to your content was frustrating. This article explains how the free plan works, what happens when it ends, and what your options are going forward.
What the Free Plan Is For
The free plan is designed for short-term, low-volume sharing — a great way to explore what Simplebooklet can do and see firsthand whether it's the right fit for you and your organization. It's also our way of showing you what we're capable of before asking you to commit.
The free plan includes up to 1,000 opens over 6 months. Once either of those limits is reached, the account enters a paused state.
What Happens When a Free Plan Expires
When your free plan reaches its limit, your account is paused — not immediately deleted. During this window, you'll have the opportunity to upgrade to a paid plan or take advantage of a free 1-month Pro trial (see below).
You have 21 days from the point your plan expires to make a decision. After that window closes without any action, your account and all associated content are permanently removed from our system. This deletion is not recoverable. We take this step for a few reasons: storage and hosting have real costs, and data privacy regulations (including EU law) require us to remove inactive user data that is no longer in active use.
We Did Let You Know
We know it can feel sudden, but we do our best to make sure free plan users are never caught off guard. Before your account is removed, Simplebooklet sends:
- An email 7 days before your plan reaches its limit
- An email 1 month before your plan expires
- A notification when your account enters its paused state
These are sent to the email address associated with your account. If you didn't see them, it's worth checking your spam or junk folder — sometimes our emails land there.
What You Can Do Now
If your account has been paused but not yet fully removed, you still have options. Simply log into your Simplebooklet account and you'll see everything available to you — from upgrading to a paid plan to starting a free 1-month Pro trial if you need more time to decide. No need to contact us; it's all right there.
If your account has already been fully removed, unfortunately we are not able to recover deleted content. We'd encourage you to start fresh — it only takes a few minutes to get back up and running.
Why We Hope You'll Stay
Simplebooklet is built on the belief that your content deserves better than a flat PDF. The free plan exists because we want to earn your trust before asking for anything in return. If Simplebooklet has delivered value for you, a subscription is what makes it possible for us to keep building and improving the platform for everyone.
We'd love to have you as part of that.
