How do I embed my Simplebooklet on my website?

You can embed your Simplebooklet on your own website, so visitors read it right on your page without opening a new tab. Copy the embed code from the Share tab, paste it into your website editor, and your document experience shows up on your page, with every open still counted in your Simplebooklet Reports.

How do I embed my Simplebooklet?


  1. On your Dashboard, click Share on your Simplebooklet. If you're already editing it, click Share in the top-right corner.
  2. Under Get it in front of readers, click Embed.
  3. Under Choose your platform, click Code. If your site is built on WordPress, WIX, Shopify, Squarespace or SharePoint, see the steps for your platform below.
  4. Choose a size and a navigation bar (see below).
  5. Click Copy Embed Code.
  6. In your website editor, paste the code into an Embed, HTML or Custom Code block. On a blog platform, switch to HTML view and paste it there.
  7. Save and publish your page.


How do I choose the size?


Use the dropdown under Paste this code into your webpage HTML:

Sets the width you enter in the box beside the dropdown, and the height adjusts to match


You can also edit the width and height values directly in the embed code.


How do I change the navigation bar on my embed?


Under Select your embed navigation bar, choose:


  • Candy bar: a navigation bar along the bottom
  • Minimalist: a compact navigation button
  • None: no navigation bar


Your change applies right away, including to embeds already on your website.


How do I embed on WordPress, WIX, Shopify, Squarespace or SharePoint?


WordPress


WordPress uses a shortcode instead of embed code.


  1. Under Choose your platform, click Wordpress.
  2. Under Wordpress Plugin, click Get Plugin and install the Simplebooklet WordPress plugin. You only need to do this once.
  3. Click Copy Shortcode.
  4. Paste the shortcode into your WordPress page and publish it.


Shopify


  1. Under Choose your platform, click Shopify.
  2. Choose a size and navigation bar, then click Copy Embed Code.
  3. Add the code to your Shopify website where your theme lets you add custom HTML, then save.


Squarespace


  1. Under Choose your platform, click Squarespace.
  2. Choose a size and navigation bar, then click Copy Embed Code.
  3. Add a new block to your Squarespace page, paste the code into it, and save.


WIX


Click WIX under Choose your platform to open the free Flip Books app by Simplebooklet in the Wix App Market, then click Add to Site. Learn more: How do I add a Simplebooklet flipbook to my Wix website?


SharePoint


Use the Code option and paste it into SharePoint's Embed web part. Learn more: How do I embed my Simplebooklet on a SharePoint page?


What if my site or email doesn't support embed code?


Use Cover instead. It gives you a short piece of code that shows your Simplebooklet's cover image, linked to your Simplebooklet. It works in email messages, on web pages, and on sites that don't support iframe embeds.


  1. Under Choose your platform, click Cover.
  2. Click Copy Cover Code.
  3. Paste it into your email, web page or site editor.


Readers click the cover to open your full Simplebooklet.


What should I know before I embed?


  • Your website must allow iframes for embed code to work. If it doesn't, use Cover.
  • The embed has a transparent background, so it fits into your page design.
  • Opens, reports and updates stay tied to your Simplebooklet. If you update it with Replace, the embed shows the new version without any new code.

Common questions


Do I need to update the embed code when I change my Simplebooklet?


No. Use Replace to update your Simplebooklet, and the embed shows the new version. You only need new embed code if you embed a different Simplebooklet.


Can I see how many people read my Simplebooklet on my website?


Yes. Opens from your embed count toward your Simplebooklet's opens. Click View in Reports at the top of the Share tab to see which pages held readers' attention.


Can I keep my Simplebooklet from being opened anywhere except my website?


Yes. Use Lock to Webpage under Access Controls, so your Simplebooklet only opens on the web pages you choose. Learn more: Lock your Simplebooklet to a Webpage
